with a heavy heart i must share the loss of one of our own.
sean kelly was one of three men killed in a small plane crash on sunday. he is and forever will be a man of the year in my book. he will always be remembered as a husband, friend, surfer, skier and the twenty-ten moty chili cook off winner. he was the inspiration to the shine on post. an all around great guy who is already tremendously missed.

This is a complete shock to all I'm sure. I'm so sorry to hear the news. I knew Sean for a short time during the late 90's. I was introduced to him by my "cousin" Shawn Matlotz and his now wife Lisa. I remember going up to his apt in Hermosa and vaguely remember a Alaskan sled dog for some crazy ass reason!! Maybe that's just a bizarre night that should be forgotten??? Anyway, Sean always brought a smile and gave me plenty to laugh about and at. I remember his 1st run for office. I recall making signs and distributing them to local businesses and voters alike. He was serious about his politics but I always saw him as the silly Irishmen that loved people and having a good time. I raise a Fat Tire to a friend who will be missed beyond comprehension. To his family, my prayers and warmest memories of a fantastic man that I'm so proud to have enjoyed time with!!

I am in shock. Truly heartbreaking. I'm so glad I had the chance to talk to him a few months back at the Pub Crawl event after not having seen him for a while. Al, I'm very sorry for your families loss and please send our deepest condolences to Laura as well. If there's anything we can do to help her out during this difficult time, let her know we're here for her.
